October 15, 2008  3A Regionals

The boys team came out first and set the tone for the day by placing our top six boys in the top 10. Justin Sly out sprinted North Sanpete's #1 runner to claim the individual Region championship. Great Job Justin! He was followed close behind by Tucker Pinder in 4th, Tyler Gebert in 6th, Seth Muhlestein in 7th, Jordan Daniels in 9th and Tannen Fawcett in 10th. Way to go guys!!!

After the boys finished their race, it was the girls' turn to try to pull off the upset in their race. On paper, North Sanpete's girls team was the favorite, with their varsity team having eaten us the week before. However, our girls came out ready to fight for every point, and it paid off. Salem Hills' girls' team beat North Sanpete by a mere 3 points!

At the State meet on

At the State meet on Wednesday, Salem Hills High School went out there and showed the state of Utah that they will be a POWER in Cross-country in the years to come. Justin Sly, who finished 16th overall, led the boys team to a strong 8th place finish, while the girls finished an AMAZING 4th place, led by the duo of Cosette Stone (17th overall), and Megan Curtis (19th). Awesome job all 14 of you! For those of you who are seniors, your hard-work, commitment and leadership will be missed. For you who are underclassmen, we look forward to next year taking our team to the next level! Go Skyhawks!

Region

Region,
Hello all again. This last wed. (the 15th) we had Region at Juan Diago high school again. We were all nervous going in. Boys had a huge target painted on their back from their victory last week, and s had to step it up to beat North Sanpete. Both team pulled through and the first year Salem High school won two region championships. s and boys. I led the boys team first place. beat second place only by two seconds (had everyone really scared there...) and our s Cosett Stone took third overall. My goal from the week before was to break 17 mins (got a 17:02 last week) this week they extended the course and i still got a 16:59!! it was epic. Next week we run at state in SugarHouse at 2:00 pm wish me luck!

Remember Life is unfair BUT never in your favor! Especially when it comes to parents and curfews!

Pre Region

Salem Hills Cross Country Team reaced Wed the 8th at Juan Diago high school (rich catholic school)  s took second from a huge upset from North Sanpeat. Guys took FIRST!! (braggin moment for me) I took first, second place was 25 seconds behind me! was a North Sanpeat kid. Third and fourth were Tucker Pinder and Tyler Gebert both tied, fith was a Delta kid, and Salem's last two runners took sixth and seventh! it was a hugh upset! next week we run the same race at the same place for region. were the favorite, and honestly it scares me. Hopefully Salem Hills can walk away with two Region titles!!
