They have a seven children, one of whom is Benjamin born inVermont, abt 1781 and died in Harrison, Indiana in 1851. His brother Daniel had ason named Benjamin F, born Nov 3, 1843 in Oakland Co., Michigan and died11/24/1857, same county at age 14, so probably not any help. Benjamin, the father , could have been the Benjamin fromVermont. Some Sly's migrated to Nova Scotia before theRevolutionary War. This is being researched. Benjamin appears in the 1790 N.Y. census in Ontario county NewYork. Notes from Elaine Johnston: Documentation: Will for Gideon Sly;Family bible of Christopher Sly; Church records of Baptistchurch of Battenkill, Ontario, NY; paper on Gideon Sly. Benjamin Sr. of Groveland, Ontario Co. and Honeye, New Yorkmentiaoned in the 1790 census. Benjamin had power of attorny forGideon, his son, when he died in 1812. Joshua and Gideon's wifePolly, were named administrators of his estate. It named Joshuaas his brother and Polly as his wife. Could have been from Vermont. Some Sly's migrated to Nova Scotiabefore the Revolutionary War.
