Note | ! Thomas joined LDS Church in Ohio or Iowa and came to SL. He went to Calif. with son-in-law, James C. Sly, as a guide for gold seekers and died there. His family were very poor and there were several young children and they grew up with some bitterness toward the church. His wife, Mary, is supposed to have married a Mr. Parker and was the oldest living resident of Nephi. Sources: Thomas Gustin Bible, Lenore Waite has copy. Capt. Joseph Gustin Manuscript; James C.
